What is Injection Molding:
Injection Molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts in large volume. It is most typically used in mass-production processes where the same part is being created thousands or even millions of times in succession.
Injection molding is a great technology for finished production on a massive scale. It is also useful for finalized prototypes that are used for consumer and/or product testing. Prior to this late stage in production, however, 3D printing is much more affordable and flexible for products in the early stages of design.
Injection molding is usually done using plastic and is a process that forces liquid plastic to form a mold to make nameplates, plaques, signs and branded items for custom products. Once the plastic cools and solidifies, it is released from the mold to form a variety of plastic parts for any industry. One of the countries that stands out in this process, is Chinese.
Popular uses of injected plastic molding include: household appliances identification plates, industrial equipment identification plates, car emblems, vehicle brands and label holders, as well as identification of recreational products.
How does the plastic injection molding process work in China?
Plastic injection molded nameplates and other components are produced by a machine consisting of three basic components:
- A mold that can be manufactured to make any size and shape that is needed.
- A clamping unit that holds and holds the mold together throughout the process.
- An injection unit injected with molten plastic into the mold, where it will remain until it has cooled and released sufficiently.
The molten plastic used for products made by injection molding machines is produced by melting small plastic granules, which is fed to an injection machine that heats the granules in a bottom or liquid form.
Once the plastic granules now the bottoms reach a specific temperature, the semi-liquid is forcedly injected into a mold. The speed and pressure of this process are controlled by a hydraulic cylinder that, once activated, forces the liquid plastic to the mold.
In the “pause” phase of the plastic injection molding process, the plastic is left in the mold to ensure that the mold is completely filled and then allowed to cool to the point where the desired object is solidified and produced. Then you are ready for secondary processes such as decoration, subassembly or shipping.
The injection molded plastic process allows manufacturers to produce custom plastic nameplates and components that can be too expensive to manufacture using traditional machining methods. The manufacturers of injection molded plastics also save time and money by allowing many pieces of the same component to be made at the same time, from the same mold; Each copy is identical to the previous one.
This process also reduces labor costs to a minimum the need for labor by employees. There is also no wasted material, since any unused or leftover plastic can be recycled to be reused in the process
How are China plastic injection molding manufacturers currently working in China?
The current version of the plastic injection mold kit is computer controlled and the plastic raw material is injected into steel and aluminum molds to produce custom plastic plates, plastic components and many of the plastic products we use every day. The molding equipment injects hot plastic into the mold and cools the plastic and removes the parts. Today’s molding equipment makes mass production of plastic components easy and cost effective.
Today, plastic injection molding company in China use vertical and horizontal presses, injection screw presses, electric presses and hydraulic presses for any pressure rate needed to complete the product pressure. This process produces everything from car parts to plates and even toothbrushes.
